Memorial Garden News Update - 06/28/04

The Memorial Garden project has begun. Families and friends from several classes have started purchasing plants, benches and trees for the garden. I started with my own class because I knew most of the people that have passed on. In most cases, I do not know who those individuals are in the other classes. I am relying on all of you to send me the information about those in your class. I will maintain a list for each class as you email me names.

By reaching as many families as possible, we can all make this garden beautiful. I am very excited that we have begun, and I look forward to all of you seeing the growing project. Right now, the biggest item we need is all of the rock for the pathways. The pathways are the foundation of the garden, and require a larger one time commitment. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

To participate in discussing your ideas, concerns, etc., please remember to register at the forums, which will also be a source of project information.

We have an account at TCF Bank, and alumni can send donation for the general garden fund directly to the account. If you want to purchase plants for an individual, please email me at woodburyalumni@aol.com and I will send you the available list. Several classes have also asked if they could donate money that has been reserved for their class reunions. If the class wants to do this, please contact me and we make those arrangements.

Thank you again for all of your support for this project. It cannot succeed without all of you participating, and it is very exciting to see this garden finally coming to life.
